How to make 10oz of silver really interesting (pan-pacific replics)

I thought these 5oz silver replica slugs were cool enought to buy.
They are both marked S/N00461 and 5 T.O. .999 SILVER on the edge. They are gold plated (but I have yet to verify that).
I am curious about their origin , has anyone else seen or own replicas like these?

When I got them the story I was told was that these were struck by the Singapore mint to the order of Harlan White 20 to 30 years ago.
I would like to find out how many where made. I Googled Harlan White and found a coin dealer in California. I wonder if this is the same person. I figure you guys have seen it all so posting here might save me a long distance phone call.
