How long does it usually take .....

How long does it usually take PCGS to enter all of the submission information into their system after they enter the initial submission numbers? I have a submission that was entered into the system the other day and I'm just wondering how long until the acutall list of coins will show up? After the grading is done and the labels are made or before?

Yep! The list of coins submitted will not show up until after they have been graded. I've never really cared for this as the phrase "Submission Status Check" is just a little misleading. The only real status you can get is that the submission was received and then entered. It would be nice if it stated something a little more definitive. My Modern submission was received on 2/2, and then entered into the system on 2/5. And there it sits.

The real question is how long does it take for a submission dropped off at their table in Long Beach to show up in the system as received. I can't see how it takes that much longer than it took to initially receive them to enter them if the coin numbers were all there and correct. With the evaporation of the return guarantee, I would have thought the delay would have cleared up, as an assumed artificial clock handicap.

  • I sent my last submission under modern on 2/5/2007 and my grades were ready on 2/21/07, status did not change to shipped until 2/23/07 so it took 13 days to show grades.
