2007 Topps Bengie Molina.....

Are the Topps air-brushers that good? I was at Wal-Mart this morning and picked up a few packs of 2007 Topps. When I got to the Bengie Molina card, it struck me as kinda weird. It's a game action shot, but he's fully decked out in San Francisco Giants gear....complete with orange/white batting gloves. To my knowledge, he's never played a game with the giants, and it does state on the back that he signed a free agent contract with them on 12/6/06. Have they totally air brushed the entire uniform, helmet, pin stripe and batting gloves?

  • That's Barry Bonds with Bengie's face pasted on top of his image

I noticed a couple more - like Gary Mathews in an Angel uniform.

    "Molon Labe"

  • The Piazza and Frank Thomas are pretty well done too - sure beats the crayola job on some of the 70s cards of players on new teams...

I can tell from the background that the picture was taken at Rogers Centre (formerly the SkyDome) in Toronto. So the shot was definitely taken when he was a Blue Jay. Sure beats the airbrushes they used to do. Remember the 1992-93 UD (might have been 1991-92) Lindros Flyers card?
