Opinions on PSA crossover '58 Mantle

If you need a larger scan I can do it again. I'm curious if you believe this card has a shot at a PSA 7. I don't want to bother if it has no chance. Corners are the weak point.

Looks like a nice 6. I would cross it anyway. Pop it out of the holder from hell. GOOD LUCK.

That is a nice looking card. It is a shot 7 - I've seen worse in holders.

Looks to have a shot. Great centering - I have a similarly centered '58, VG-EX due to a freakin' long surface crease, right through Mick's face. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

centering is great. i don't think a 7 will happen, but very nice.

    Thanks,

Me being a modern guy, I dont know how they would treat the "chunk" that is missing from the left upper edge.

It looks more than just a rough cut.

Agree about the chunk. 40% chance of a 7, I'd definitely give it a shot.

And seeing it from the back, the corners appear to be quite soft. You should get a 6 but don't be surprised if it comes back a 5.

Easy 6, possible 7 unless there's something we can't see in the scan.

I would say only 25% chance of the seven due to the corners. You need at least 2 nice ones for a seven.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
  • 2 of those corners were nicer before I sent it in. I don't know what they did to it, lol. I wouldn't want a 7 if it took a drunk grader and a *good day* to obtain it, because ultimately the buyer will be unsatisfied. I'll probably cross it over to PSA in case anyone wants it for a registry set. Thanks for your opinions.
