How Do You Guys Store Your Rattlers??

Not the snake. I don't much care about
them!!

I keep my PCGS slabs in a PCGS blue box.
I like it, but as you all know, the early
rattler holders don't fit.

Some guy on the Bay wants $70.00 for
an old black PCGS box, so that's not an
attractive option.

Just wondering how some of you guys
keep your old holders along side your
newer ones??

I heard that wrapping them in Intercept
Shields is an option. I guess sending
them in for a reholder is another option.

What are some others??

  • OK I`ll bite. I only have 5 of them and keep them bundled together with with a rubber band. Cheap, practical, and keeps them together for easy retrieval.image

i don't care what you say, i'm going to tell my joke whether you like it or not. i store them in the snake pit of course! ok now seriously, i don't own any rattler slabs, but if i did, i would keep them in the blue box with all the grown up slabs, just at the front or the back, with a big slab next to it keeping it in place.

    They fit--little tight...but they fit.

I send them back in for regrade and new holders, I rarely get one back that does not get a higher grade. Plastic grades are inconsistent at best. The only other way to store them is out of the plastic, were coins belong.

And I thought I was the only one that did that. image I have 14 rattlers two stacks of five and one stack of four. All held tightly together with rubber bands and cardboard between each slab.

You know, I always thought it would be a
good idea for someone to come up with a
plastic border, just like the ones on the
two piece holders which came right after
    the rattlers.

It would have one part with three sides
on it that you could slide the rattler holder
into, and a fourth side that would snap
on after you put it together.

Then it would fit in the blue box.

Probably not worth the effort though,
since there are fewer and fewer of the
    rattlers out there.

Sometimes I keep them in a rattler box (i.e., the boxes that were desinged to hold the rattlers).

  • I went to the post office and got some sleeves. The are just a little larger than a 3 X 5 card.

  • The few I've got reside in an Intercept Shield slab holder with my other PCGS slabs. Sure they don't quite fit snugly in your blue PCGS slab box but so what?

Drill a hole & thread them onto a keychain.

  • I have a black rattler box that I keep mine in. It is great for the rattlers, they fit very snuggly in their own slot. I think I have a few other rattlers that are in the blue or green plastic boxes along with some graded ANACS plastic. $70 for a rattler box? Wow! (They are nice for rattlers but not THAT nice.)
