Don't miss your chance to own a newly discovered 1807 Capped Bust Half Dollar marriage(?). Interesting how the eagle on the reverse is so different from all the other 1807 CBH eagles. "Alter" your date. "Cast" in your bid.image

Do you know what would be really funny about this one? If it was an 1817/4 that some moron altered to be an 1807. If I look hard enough, I can almost see the 4 under there..... or maybe not.

oh jeez........ not that dude again.
  • The 1807 he bought from ebay seller cobbrddg on January 29th. I guess his 71 year old aunt has discovered flipping.

Somewhere...sometime....those bidders heard that 1807 was a good yearimage
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • The funny part is Aunt Sarah just bought that coin for $530.20. Hope she only get $100, then the government takes it and gives the buyer his money back. See link

  • Auntie has been listed as a scammer for at least a month on these boards, why has she not received ANY feedback from sales AT ALL recently? image

One from a shill on Feb 1, then 2 years prior is the last from a buyer.

I'd love to see "auntie" try to get her money out of this one. $530 for that fake hunk of junk? Did auntie purchase it from another scammer by chance?

How can you tell the coin is fake? I'm looking at my RedBook and I can't tell the difference between the two
coins. Not that I would consider buying a raw coin, just trying to learn. Thanks.

I can tell just by the lettering on the reverse.
  • Lots wrong with it as an 1807, wrong eagle, wrong portrait. It is either an altered date or a cast fake with altered date.

This design is more like the 1809 bust half. The 1807 and 1808 were of a more slender design. Starting in 1809 Ms Liberty and the Eagle became more bulky. After collecting these halves for a while you can spot fakes easily. This is why it is dangerous to cross collect in an area you are not familiar with. There are a lot series issues I could be fooled in outside of the bust half arena.

I particularily found the EAGLES HEAD interesting. No bust half has an eagles head that looks like this one. So in that respect it may not be a purely cast reproduction unless it was modified after the cast was made. Also the date probably was die cut as a cast would have had the 1809 date.

In contemporary counterfeits of the era often dates were placed on coins that did not match the year issued. For instance in reeded edge 50c pieces I have seen dates in the early 1830's when in fact the first reeded edge was minted in 1836 and ect. I have even seen seated liberty halves with bust half dates!!

    Hope this helps.

  • Here is Aunt Sarah's 1855S $3 Indian Head Princess (black background) compared to NGC example (blue background). Note the letter "R" embedded above "OF" on the obverse. Also, compare the word "DOLLAR" and what appears to be the re-worked or photo shopped area around it. These pictures were previously posted on the "Say What?" thread. That thread went poof after this seller joined the boards and launched into an obscenity and threat laced name calling meltdown (10:41 to 11:15 am yesterday), involving 3 different threads.

Looks to be an altered 1809 O-106.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
  • Nice image
  • Aunt Sarah's auctions are gone. Appears he has been NARU'd. Wonder if he'll post here again as "koinking"? Made quite a scene here yesterday between 10:40 - 11:15 am.

Here is where "Aunt Sarah" got her 1855-S $3:

    Source of 1855-S $3

Paid $4,272 for it from the same seller trying to sell the 1870-CC half discussed in another thread. Then tried to get someone to buy it for $15K to $30K. Obviously didn't sell it. It is possible that the seller has heard that money can be made by buying coins, giving them a better and fancier description incl. grade, then selling them for more money. That could work, if the flipper has enough knowledge to avoid overgraded and possibly bogus coins. However, it appears (in my opinion) that this flipper doesn't have enough knowledge to avoid the traps set by others, and others are adept at avoiding "her" traps. IMO the conclusion is that "she" will either go broke doing this or will be NARU'ed.

Aunt Sahar is not going to like you Mozin. When you drive your Jag around town keep an eye on your rear view mirror.

I personally know zilch about gold but for those who might know for sure that Aunt Sahar is selling a fake click on the Ebay Counterfeit Link and enter the auction lot number in the drop box. If Ebay gets enough of these they will pull the auction and if Aunt Sahar keeps getting this kind of action she will be looking for a new Ebay name.

    Ebay Counterfeit Link

Then click on the link that says: Report counterfeit or replica items.

You will have to enter your ebay id and password and it will take you to a drop box that instructs you to enter the auction number. It's that simple.
  • For those of you who missed Aunt Sarah's February 22 meltdown here on USCF, here's what part of that looked like...

10:40 AM: After joining as "koinking", Sarah placed a post on the "You'll be sorry if you get outbid on this on this one! Say what??" thread. He, Aunt Sarah, called board members "HOMOSEXUAL SISSIES" and challenged us with "WHO IS BRAVE ENOUGH TO LIST YOUR ADDRESS OR COME TO BOSTON?" and "WHO WANT'S TO MEET ME IN PERSON AND TALK ALL THAT TRASH?????"

10:49 AM: Sarah posts another message along similar lines. He claims to be a "6 FOOT 6 INCH OUTLAW BIKER" and "EX CONVICT". Also, purports to be the nephew of Aunt Sarah and claims that Sarah "CHOPPED WOOD" and "BAILED HAY ALL HER LIFE"... He used phrases such as "Ireland Forever" and "Tiocfaidh Ar La!".

11:05 AM: After failing to bring enough attention to himself, Sarah created two new threads, including the one below. A message board melee ensued. I have censored this post to remove the names of 37 board members.

11:29 AM: The first of three threads goes poof. Within hours, all of Aunt Sarah's auctions are removed from ebay.

  • Aunt Sarah has 5 auctions and the bidding continues....... image
  • UPDATE: Auction for the 1855-S $3 gold ended with no bids. As for the 1807 Bust Half, Aunt Sarah ended that early, on the 2nd, without explanation. However, he was probably notified by several people that it is not authentic (an altered 1809).
