Wouldn't it be fun to be this rich?

Visited my coin shop at lunch today. Looking for smoe generic gold but he was completely cleaned out. I asked if there had been a run on gold, and he said nope. He said "Mr. X" had been by earlier. Mr. X is a local businessman who is crazy rich. I mean 10s if not 100s of M.
It seems that one of the 8 or 10 gold coins in his case caught his eye, so he bought them all, full sticker price, on a lark.
So I sez to my dealer, I sez, "What in the world does Mr. X want with a fistfull of gold coins? Does he collect?"
And my dealer sez to me: Not at all. He was in here to pick up a special order: two $1,000 bills and four $500 bills. And get this--he got them to give out as tips. He needed smoe additional ideas, and thought the gold coins would go well with the bills.

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

<< <i>Ive always wanted a $500 or $1000 bill. Even if its a current issue. Is this possible for close to face value? >>
Methinks you'd need a time machine to get a current issue. There's been nothing over $100 made for many moons...

I saw an interview with Larry Ellison several years ago on CNBC on a day when ORCL stock took a pretty good hit. They quickly calculated how much his personal holdings had devalued and I think it was half a billion dollars or something like that. They asked him how it felt to lose that much money and he actually thought about it a second and said "After the first few hundred million your lifestyle doesn't change much." I guess his high school son didn't have to give up commuting to school in his personal helocopter.
