Pre 1485 British Coins

I have recently been looking at this coinage and thought that since I live in Ireland I should be able to pick up a few quality pieces at reasonable prices but I have a few questions before I make a purchase of any sort:

1) How do top end market prices compare with prices in the Coin Yearbook 2005 ?

2) Who are some of the top dealers in this field ? ( I have the latest Roderick Richardson catalogue and the first few pages are DROOL material !! Unaffordable rare beauties. )

3) Are there many fakes/copies around ?

4) Could anyone recommend any books on this subject ?

If you have any knowledge of these early British coins then please post on this thread and share the information.

TIA.

The meaning of life ? I don't know but I am sure that coins have something to do with it.

    1. Never heard of The Coin Yearbook 2005.
    2. I'll let the others recommend some.
    3. Not too many, I don't think.
    4. The Spink catalog.
