2006-W ASE is a Winner....

I posted a buy offer for 100 at $70 on BST (PCGS MS69). I upped the offer the $75. Not one taker.

Seems this will be winner, given the tight hands.

Yes, I agree it is, but, raw is going for almost $70 (sometimes more) on ebay, so I wouldn't be selling PCGS MS69 for $70 if it were me.

First strikes are going for over $300.

  • I got double-digit "watchers" on my 2006 RP and W auctions. So yeah, it seems demand is still high for these.
  • I did a BIN for $85 on ebay which the notion that these things will continue to climb.

Yep...I didn't get my order in in time on these (trying to consolidate the orders and I wanted to get an idea on how they were doing) and got shut out. But, I did find a seller at a coin show a few weeks ago that had just gotten his order in and was selling for $35 each. I bought the 3 that he had left image Sold one immediately for $65 on ebay and holding the other 2 for a bit.

  • Seems like this one has been hovering around the $70-$75 range. MAybe it's still too early, but does anyone still think this will be a hit?

I'd say they are a hit even at $70 since they only cost $20 from the mint... nice return on investment in such a short time.
  • I am of the belief that some people have their head in the sand. New greysheet list the 06-W CURRENTLY at $75 bid and $80 ask. These are a long way from $20 mint issue only two months or so ago. I currently have 60 in a closet that can be had for $85. They are not growing hair or eating a thing so it won`t be long till somebody will call them out. The PCGS-69 peices can be had from $75-$95 on the BAY as I have purchased many at an average cost of $72.?? and change. The market here is not the SLABS but the ALBUM COLLECTORS. there is approximately 1 1/2 million of these collectors trying to have a completed set for themselves. each one of their children and in some cases each and every Grandchild now and those yet to be born. These at $100.00 is cheap compaired to a 1996 at $60-$75. Its a winner friends, Chas.

  • The 2006-W Unc. AND the 2006-P Reverse Proof are BOTH going to be BIG winners. Ungraded, original sets are already surpassing $300, and some are hitting $330 +S/H on the Bay. These opportunities only come along once every 10 or so years. And my 30 (remaining) sets are not growing hair either!

The one RP70 doesn't return grading fees. The submitter would have been better off selling the sets raw.

I've got one too. These things will keep appreciating so it's not too hard to be patient. What's worse is to sell and see them continue to rise.

  • I've got 31 of them right now... I saw someone selling 4 of them on ebay just a couple hours ago for 69.99 each and almost bought all four but I've got to save some money for some seated quarters that I think are undervalued. Looks like someone else saw it and nabbed them up already. The law of scarcity says these will go quite a bit higher... if they went above $250 honestly I wouldn't be that surprised.. given what those 1993-1995 proof eagles go far and there's much less demand for those then there is these uncirculated W specimens... the only thing keeping the price down now is waiting for all the people who manged to get them for $20 to sell them off... shouldn't be too much longer. image

I also have a couple extra empty boxes in case a couple of the slabs spot on me or I stumble upon an NGC slab I can break it out and put it back into the mint box. image

I agree. Maybe someday the Mint will address the problem, of course, some day the Mint will give a ####.
No doubt it. Maybe I will write my Senatorimage That will do it.
  • I have a chance to buy 20 @ $62.00 each. You think I should buy them?image
