It's now kicked to $1,400. Any bets that the $1,400 is the seller's reserve?

BTW, those colours look akin to a peyote experience....we can call it the Peyote Crown. Old George could have used some about 1818.....couldn't have hurt!!

As long as we are openly talking about this coin.

Can someone share with me what is going on with the obverse of the coin? It looks like there is some type of metal disturbance behind the head between 7 and 8 o'clock.

Perhaps it's a strike through area, as it appears to be incuse below the surface of the field, as well as exhibiting a darker toned coloration.

It didn't meet reserve. If AHM sell their NT MS65 for $1800, I'd say that the consignor has really high expectations.
