Slightly OT - 1830 French Catholic medal - update

I really like this medallion. I believe it's silver, but there are no marks
to verify that belief.

What do y'all think?

Edited to add:
I found a web site that tells a bit about this medal:

Most of these that I have seen are silver, so I suspect you are right.

Does anyone know the symbolism of the 2 hearts on the reverse?

The one on the left is the heart with thorns, which I've seen before,
but the one on the right with the dagger stuck in it is new to me.

I believe that most parish priests for 100's of years had access to catholic medals like this one. Mine is definitely not silver, looks like aluminium, possibly WWII.

I found a similar "Miraculous Mary" medallion, struck in sterling but without the French inscription, with my detector.

Actually, I think I may have found two or three of them.

The "1830" date is not the date the medal was struck, by the way.

Here is the story behind the Miraculous Medal. (And the 1830 date).

Edit: duh, I see you already found all that out. image

Anyway, I like diggin' those up. image
