20th ASE sets continue to rise

Just checking completed auctions for the sets in original mint packaging. Some lucky people getting them in the 270's, but a lot of 280's and 90's with one guy unloading his 9 sets with a BIN of 300.

I take it that that is for "opened" sets?

So, if the reg proof is a $30 coin (just rounding here) raw, and the unc is ~$70 raw, then $300 would mean the reverse proof is ~$170-$200 raw.

Am I missing something with my numbers here? I count the packaging as null though it has a $3-$12 value I am sure.

What are the unopened sets bringing?

I used to collect Ball cards as a hobby,, Anytime I went into a card shop and the Dealer would say,," The Prices Are ONLY Going To Go Up!!.." I knew this was a Clown that I did not want to do business with... image
  • it's funny when people list in their auctions that the prices could hit $150 or $200... if that's the case why are they selling them? By the way they're right, these are only going to go up but should remain stable for month or two now as the people who got them for $20 unload them. After all people who bought at $20 sold them off, the next leg in the price rise should occur.

Single unopened sets are bringing $340-380 with boxes of 10 selling for $3200 or so and up.

Just a little good old-fashioned hype. But in this case, I believe they're correct.

  • Wow. Guess I underestimated the popularity of this issue.image

At least I bought one set.
  • I sold my two sets to mrpaseo on ebay...$419 for two unopened sets in mint packaging. I'd say we both did OK since I got mine for free and you couldnt get two in a mint sealed box for less than $250 ea now.

I will keep one forever and sell the other when it gets above $500...which I think will be before the end of this year.
  • some unopened are going for 300+ ..... not bad at all

  • It's been a nice rise. Should continue to do so. Silver Eagles are very popular.

  • Given the popularity of the ASE's and the set having 2 Keys in it, i think the sky's the limit. JMHO
