My newest Southern gold purchase, thoughts?

This is the dirtiest coin I have ever seen (no offense RYK).

Seriously, the reason I posted this coin was to get your thoughts on the grade. I'll let you get guess or cheat, I didn't hide the cert #. I'll post the grade and my thoughts later.

I will give it a F-15.
i love it no matter what the insert might say.

Get in line, chief.
edited to add: Not knowing thes series very well I give it a 12, but the grade is irrelevant on a coin like this IMO

PCGS graded this coin F-12. I spent many hours looking at this coin, my ANA grading book, and another similar coin on a southern gold dealer's website. My first stab at a grade was VF-20 on the reverse and F-15 on the obverse.
Gold Rush Gallery had a 39-D $5 graded F-12 by PCGS that was almost identical on the obverse and had much more wear on the reverse. My question is, why F-12? Was this net graded because of the scratch? Some posters were under and some over, I would love to hear your thoughts.

And here's a PCGS VF-30 example I used to own that really had the mushy obvers strike going on...

Wow, a gold piece that looks like it was well circulated. Never owned one of these in this condition. I enjoyed the photo. Thanks.
I would love to know what this coin purchased. $5 was a lot of money for 1839.
I love it.....
