I'm placing a bid also. Hopefully it'll sell for my bid price.

Looking at the same auction, does anyone think that the coin below is blatantly AT?

Dan, I had the same suspicion, if the consignor of the Canadian dollars is the same , I'd be very suspicious of that crown.

The colours (in the crown, the Canadian dollar is a joke) are not mixing well IMHO. Plus, it's a bit spotty for my taste. At its price, it could be a doctored coin.

PS: And what's that thing behind George's head, in front of GEORGIUS?

Nothing that a dip won't take care of. imageimage

It looks like a booger. Actually the booger, and glop on the jaw remind me of "blobbed-on" lacquer.

A dip would certainly make it look better, but you'd have to crack it first. image

Guys the more I look at it, the more convinced I am that it's AT, a job done while the coin was in the holder, only we won't easily find records of the coin sold when it was white. Anyway ,all the alarming signs are there.

I thought of laquer, as well, when I was looking at this one. The toning patterns appear to be liquid-caused and laquer would fit the description.

Looks like some coins I have seen that got exposed to moisture at some point while stored in envelopes.

Hmmm I'd like to know what something like that would sell for tooimage
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.
