Rebroadcast of Don Larsen's Perfect Game

In this day and age of YouTube and internet access, it's almost incredible to believe that Yogi Berra and Don Larsen were never able to watch this game till now.

1956 World Series

Edit: How many members here recall watching this game?

  • Heck, most of us were not even born yet.

Tickets are $300 and limited to 80 people.

If I was anywhere close, it would be a no brainer to see this with THOSE guys!!!

Anyone lucky enough to attend has my envy....

  • I was at the dentists and he had it playing in the background on the radio

I told him around the 6th inning that I am pretty sure Larsen has a no hitter going

Soon as he was done I rushed home and caught the last 2 innings

The guy who owns it (Doak Ewing) told me he does private showings for $1000 + expenses. He has a wonderful collection of baseball (and other sports) highlights for sale on DVD and VHS. He said, though , that he does not plan to put the Larsen game up for sale. I am hoping that he will change his mind.

If Doak is getting $1000 plus expenses for showing the game, what possible explanation would want him to start selling to individuals?

I do not know how many showings he is doing, or how many DVDs he could sell. I assume he is doing what he thinks is best.
