Finally my first scan- Mantle Gradeable?
I think I finally figured it out. I used my new HP scanner and Photo bucket.
Is there an easier way than Photobucket?
What do you think this Mantle will grade at? I've had it since 1982.

Bad day and any tiny (invisible) surface crease, 5.
Great looking card. Grade it, and keep it.
1960 is my favorite Mantle. Not the most valuable,
but mighty pretty. The 1960 Maris card is pretty, too.
Edit: Is there a crease on the back where it says "Mickey Mantle"? If so, you're looking at a 5 at best.

Very nice looking card though, you wont find one nicer looking for the grade it will probably receive...definately one of my favorite Mantle cards.

Nice card!
<< <i>There's nothing on that card that I see or read that will give it a PD qualifier. Card should be a straight 6 - easy call.
Nice card! >>
I suppose its an " easy call " if you didnt happen to catch the print lines running the entire length of the card through Mickey Mantle, NY Yankees & outfield in the reverse.

Very nice!

<< <i>The print line isn't that noticable. No PD for that card.
It doesnt have to be that noticeable to receive a PD qualifier, it just has to be there.
For the record, I am not at all trying to diminish the cards worth. I think its a really, really nice looking card.
PSA does have standards for grading though, and I think failure to notice factors like the print lines are one of the reasons some people get so dissapointed when their grades pop and they werent what they expected to receive.

Point understood, but I've seen many Topps 1960 baseball cards with print lines like that in straight 6 PSA slabs.

I totally agree.
The graders neglect to give a good look at the back almost as often as we do it seems.
