I have a Compaqu laptop. I'm thinking about buying a scanner today primarily to post my card pictures.

What would you guys recommend? Best quality, resolution etc.

What about those 3 in 1 machines...printer,copier, etc.

    For posting pictures to the web or for emails and such, you really can't go wrong with even the cheapest of any of the major brands - Epson, Canon, and HP. Personally I love my Canon 8400F.

    If you have needs for higher quality or are really into scanning and retouching old photos and such then you might want to consider a higher end machine.

    If you have a need for the 3-1 type machine then go with HP or Epson brands. You'll need a flatbed scanner so you'll be paying a little more.

    I'm pretty happy with my epson perfection 4490 scanner, it's a scanner only but I like it.

    I'll stand behind the Canon Pixma MP830 I have. Here's an example of a scan:

    I have the Epson V100 and have zero complaints.

    So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
