Favorite card of a superstar?

Here's my favorite Pete Rose card - he looks like a little kid in this pic, and the excitement he exudes for the game is pure Americana:

Cannot argue with the Rose ... that and his 67 Topps are my favorites of the 60s.

    This is my favorite Mays:

Great cards - keep 'em coming. I should probably add that that '65 Rose is not my card.

I like the 1956 Topps card of Willie Mays, sliding into home plate. The 1953 Bowman Pee Wee Reese card is a close second.

    '60 Morrell Meats Koufax.
I'll ask Mark to post a scan. His is far nicer than mine (which stuck to a 9-pocket sheet).

Love everone's picks and pics. Two that jump to mind for me are the '76 Topps Rose and the '76 Topps Bench. Of course, I own neither -- maybe someone else could post those. One that I do own that usually doesn't get much love, but I've always thought was a real beauty...

That Ripken card is great...almost like a 1957 Topps where the player envelops the card. Looks like that is at old Cleveland Muni Stadium too.

The Iooss cards are amazing from the early 90's. Some of the best photos around, a modern version of the '53 Bowmans in my opinion. Check out this Avery image

Here is MY favorite card, of my favorite player. In 1985, when I was 9, my Step-Brother was going off to the Army and he gave my Brother and I all of his cards (all ranging from 1977 to 1983. The best card my Brother got is the Henderson rookie, and the best one I got was this Ripken rookie. When I got this card, the condition wasn't too far off from what it is today. Regardless, this was my very first Ripken card, and now I have over 3100 Ripken cards along with a very satisfying memorabilia collection. I keep this card in my wallet for good luck. image

    1960toppsguy,

I really hope this is a joke.

If its not, I would have to say, this is pretty crappy on your part.

Mark's thread basically asked us to post our favorite card of a superstar. I did that.

Saying what you said is pretty pathetic!
