I got a negative feedback for paying immediately.

I bought a couple of items from Ebay username Mookster. They were not expensive. I bought a 1964 Topps Giants Dick Groat autographed and a Buck O'Neil autographed index card.
The bottom line is that I paid immediately on January 4th. After a couple of weeks I had not received. He said they must have gotten lost in the mail. He said he had another O'Neil, but not another Groat. He said he would refund my money and send the 2nd O'Neil. I finally received the item February 16th. I left positive feedback for the O'Neil and a neutral for the Groat.
He turns right around and leaves me a positive for the O'Neil and A NEGATIVE for the Groat! Flippin' ridiculous!

Sure he did - after nearly 2 months and email after email after email. It took 3 or 4 emails just to get him to reply once. A neutral is just that - neutral! Neither good or bad. HE GAVE ME A FRIGGIN' NEGATIVE because of the feedback I gave him. I paid him immediately.

I guarantee there are many people on this board will agree,
I made good as far refund, you out NOTHING, and you leave neutral?
I believe it takes 30 before you can file a claim @ USPS,which as a seller is an option.
I would have left negative TOO> JMHO

So, you give retaliatory feedback? From the buyer's perspective, feedback is based upon whether or not the buyer paid in a timely manner - that's it. If someone takes nearly 2 months to get me an item and it takes 3 or 4 emails to get him to send 1, I think that deserves a neutral. Not a negative - a neutral. Neutral means - NOT POSITIVE; NOT NEGATIVE. Neutrals do not affect feedback rating one way or another. Why did he not leave me a neutral? HE LEFT ME A FRIGGIN' NEGATIVE AND I DID NOTHING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, but the seller is the one who mailed the original shipment to who knows where and then took two months to make good? Not acceptable! The buyer did nothing wrong expect get involved with a bad seller.
Do you sell on ebay? if so would you kindly give me your ebay handle? That way I can avoid your listings as well.
Unless of course by revealing your ebay handle some here will see that you are an alt. In that case you can keep your secret.

Also, I can see where a seller could say that simply paying for an item would not deserve automatic positive feedback. I'm sure there are a few buyers out there who take advantage of the system. If you buy something for $10 and then say you didn't get the item, 9 times out of 10 the seller will just give you the $10 back to make you happy. Now you have the card and your money back. If that scam doesn't work, then all you did was pay for the item. I'm not saying that a negative is in order for the buyer, but I can see where a neutral would be deserving for that. Sellers need to know if they have a buyer that is repeatedly telling sellers that they didn't get their item.
I wouldn't do that since that practice of scamming sellers in very rare, but I can see how a seller would have that policy of waiting until they buyer receives the item before leaving feedback. However, I don't agree with sellers who wait to leave feedback until they get theirs first.
