Joestalin's 10,000th Post Heritage Contest!!

Well, the occasion is finally here. This is my 10,000th post. I have to say its been quite a ride. I have met plenty of friends
and have enjoyed learning a little bit about everyone. The mass heritage discussions have to be the best. What was just
a few of us back in 2001, has turned into a big group. The knowledge and passion of those collectors can't be matched anywhere.
Thats something to be proud of. Many of us will pass this on to our kids or grandkids.
In honor of this historic post, I am holding a contest for my fellow friends and collectors. The winner will recieve the last big card
I have pulled from that historic 2001 brand- The Willie Mays Seat Card. This card features a wooden chunk from the historic
polo grounds. It was the last card I pulled from 2001 heritage, but in some ways Im hoping that someday I will get to open more..
perhaps here in a live rip.
The contest will be to answer a few heritage questions....of course for the seasoned heritage collector, this won't be the hard part. The
tie breaker will be how many real one autographs do I own? Please PM me your answers. Ill announce the winner after my first 2007
heritage rip...yeah thats right..Im in this year too...cause sometimes other things are more important than making a buck off something.
I look forward to many more great trades in 2007.
Thanks to All!
Kevin
Contest:
1) The black refarctor made its debut in what heritage set?
2) These autos found in heritage, are the arch nemisis to real one auto. They look to be missing from the 2007 set!!!
3) The single toughest card to pull from the 2006 heritage base/sp set was this famous card, or maybe I should say "ard"
4) 2005 topps heritage featured a group of cards that were not announced by topps or on the back of the wrapper. It was
actually collectors on this very forum who sniffed out these cards and put together a complete list. What were these cards?
5) (Tiebreaker) I own how many real one autos from 2001-2006?

Funny thing you should mention about a 2001 Heritage live break. One of my local dealers has an '01 hobby box that he is selling me and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Maybe a live break with that one?
Kurt
Joe, do you still have lots of 06 Heritage doubles?
2000 Bowman Chrome
2002 Topps Heritage NAP
2003 Topps Heritage chrome and seat relics
2006 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2007 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2008 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2006 Topps Heritage and Topps Chrome football
you might actually be able to make some money back if you hit a chrome or some nicer SP's
Kurt.....That is great that you get the chance to open another one...one day I will do the same. Tell me your dealer has a case!
LOL
Kevin
PS Yes I have lots of everything heritage. The are all in my boys room right now so I can't check until tomorrow. Ive already helped out
two people here with set needs. Keep them coming!

Joestalin, I came close to ripping those about 15 different times. I decided since I was busting a lot of 06 Heritage football and just bought 2 cases of 07 Heritage it would probably be in my best interest to sell instead of rip in case I didn't hit anything. I should've actually just sold 3 and ripped 1. I picked them up at a card show for $210 for the lot. The guy had about 6 more but I didn't have that much cash on me. I want to do the 01 set but I think now it would be much too expensive to do by ripping packs so eventually I will start to piece one together or buy one complete.
I didn't get on the Heritage wagon til 05. Picking up 04 packs for cheap was pretty easy and the guys at GCX had a pretty good deal on loose 03 packs about a year ago where I put together most of the set. Maybe this year I'll start to do the real ones, although I like putting together (or trying to) the chrome and refractor sets.

I still had them. I still have my BGS 9 Ripken. Im thinking of resending it and trying for a higher grade, as BGS is easier now, but so
much can happen when you open a slab, these cards really are condition sensitive.
My 03 chrome set STILL has holes, its the reason why I don't attempt other chrome sets. The 2 per box odds this year make it even
harder.
