And then we have this from ebayers....

tonight I had some auctions go off. of 15 cards 10 sold. i think I ended too early in the evening (between 7 and 8) I get 3 emails from 3 different ebayers wondering if they could buy the cards. All are saying that they missed the auction. HUH? The auctions ran for 7 days. Of course they all want them at the starting bid. I don't blame them. I think I'll relist em. I think ended at this time period may have cost me a few bucks.

Good for you.

  • Those people are something. Seconds after the auction ends!

Some even have the cajones to make a low-ball offer.

    Just re-list, my friend.

Are we talking big $ cards?

I sold (relisted and ended when they bid) a $1 card to someone who bought several other cards. Just wanted to move the cards.

Plus I start my opening bid at what is the least I would take for the card.

  • I missed an auction that didn't sell one time and emailed the guy just as they did you. He agreed to sell me the item at his starting bid. So it does work sometimes.

Steve - this reminds me of what I tell my customers in my retail furniture store. "I don't ever mind you asking me for a better price, because if you don't ask, I'm not gonna offer. I may not be able to give you what you're asking for, but maybe I will." Same thing applies with your unsold lots. Yeah, you're absolutely right in your thinking that your watchers had 7 days to put in a bid/snipe and didn't get around to doing it (for whatever reason). However, if they don't ask, they have no chance of getting. Obviously it all depends on how bad you want to see the cards go.

    Wow Steve

    This is not your week.

The guy isn't doing anything wrong but I hear ya.

I once contacted a guy - I was high bidder and it didn't make reserve - I contacted him before the auction ended and told him if he wanted to relist the item in his ebay store - I would be interested - he said OK but never contacted me.

Just for fun - relist the item with a high starting bid just to give the guy a rush? image

    Seconds after the auction ends!

    yep!

big dollar cards...............no, but what difference does that make?

cards are worth between 12 and 20? however, 3 nites ago a card I thought should get 20.00 -30.00 went for 152.00 so you never know.

1, they can bid early, 2, they can use just snipe.

Ive done 11 deals off the B/S/T forum for decent amounts. Checks came i sent cards right out. Ebay, you have to deal with the dregs of the hobby I guess. Most are great, just those few that can be jerks.
