I collect the Swiss Tralers with a bear on them. The only one that I don't have is the 1885 one that you are showing (it is not a 1855... ). It is also the most expensive!!! Some day,Some how, Some way..............
I love those shooting Thalers! such cool designs. I found a SEGS holdered one in MS63, but am a bit leery as i really only go with PCGS/NGC/Anacs/ICG for coinage. do they usually do a good job at grading these?
Interesting to see the difference between the PCGS 55 and the NGC 55. I honestly think my coin should be graded xf45. But I am satisfied with my purchase.

The amount of wear appears to be very similar, but my coin appears to have a lot more lustre, although that could be the photographs. One of the things that attracted me to the coin was the blue-bronze toning... gives it a bit of an "antique" appearance.

[Believe it or not, all three of these came from Blue Moon Coins, at rather attractive prices.]

No. Like Conder tokens, or those Victorian medals theboz11 collects, or so many other things, I have avoided them...
... because I fear they would become too habit-forming!
There's definitely a high "eye candy" quotient there... your piece being no exception!
<< <i>Just picked this up the other day, Anyone collect shooting Thalers? Would love to see some pics of other examples.
