How long does it take to add a new card into a player registry set? I submitted one a while ago....December I think....nothing yet. This was a 1917 Boston Stores Babe Ruth card I submitted for the Player Registry.
I've submitted others in the past that I was not sure should be in the player's registry or not since it was a retired year card. The player in question (Babe Ruth) does have other cards that are after his retirement. So I figured I'd submit them. No response, either positive or negative...and the cards weren't included in the Registry. So...I am begining to feel like there is no person on the other side receiving the messages even though they are submitted via PSA's site. That's frustrating.

FWIW, the fact it takes so long is a big big black mark on the player registry. Why bother updating if it takes 6 months? I imagine many are like me - get frustrated in waiting, and start to think if they should just delete their sets.

Certainly, the wait is annoying and frustrating. However, it is worth the wait. The registry is a powerful tool for collectors. Don't give up on it. I have 5 cards waiting to go into the Lawrence Taylor Player set since early November. I was told last week that they were on September. Sounds like an awesome card you have there. Do you have a scan of the Boston Stores Ruth card?

Upon contacting PSA they were able to get the ball rolling on one of my player sets and also informed me that they will be drastically updating requests prior to the 2007 awards deadline which I believe is sometime in early May.

Awesome card of Ruth! Thanks for providing the scan. Checked out the photos in your Ruth player sets as well and they are fabulous. I really liked the Goudeys. Thanks for having pics in your sets.

It is 5/6 months now. There will be a deadline for the next Registry awards, and PSA's staff (all awesome people -- Cosetta, BJ and Gayle) will get all the queued additions that are submitted by that deadline in. And after the awards -- we will be forgotten about until the queue builds up again and this cycle repeats for the 2008 Registry awards.
The only good news? In theory -- some of the player sets should soon be complete in terms of additions. I know on the Mike Schmidt Player Set, 99.9% of everything PSA does grade is either currently in the Registry or in the queue. So it won't be taking up future resources.
Just create a computer file listing the card name, serial #, and set(s) you want to add it to, and don't worry about it. It will eventually come in.
