1964 Topps Giants - Need advice

On a whim, I have decided to start a 1964 Topps Giants PSA set, mainly because I think the cards look nice and appear reasonably affordable for vintage cards, and the set is loaded with stars. I am not looking to spend a ton of dough on this set, so I'll probably go with 6s and 7s with an 8 sprinkled in if cheap. Looks like you can get 6s real cheap (which I'm fine with). So, any collectors out there have any good advice or recommendations on this set? Also, anyone have any "starter" lots for sale to get me off the ground?

Thanks!

You can pick up 8s very cheap and 9s for relatively low prices as well. I built up the set to about 40% complete and then sold it off as I was consolidating a few of my sets to get more of a focus on finishing up my 'main' sets.

It's a very good set and you get good fun for the money. The key is staying patient. There is one particular buyer that picks up most of the 9s or SPs in 8s out there and he's putting together several sets. So, if you can steer clear of him, you'll be fine.

    Good luck! image
