<< <i>The pricing is for a bulk submission, not just new dollars. If you send in 5 Washington Dollars, the price is fixed, not related to the grade. >>
I just don't like the FACT that you can not get the label without submitting 100 coins. Thats a lil hard to swallow.

Then don't worry about the label. *shrug* It's just a piece of paper. Like you said earlier, you got to pay to play.
"What we have here...is a failure to communicate!"
Sounds like PCGS is way behind the power curve on this one. There should be a clear explanation on the submission center page of the web site with FAQs on the GW coin and series...
I wouldn't worry about having to pay too much in grading fees for the prez dollars. The business strikes will likely be pretty beat up with a lot of bag and machine marks. I doubt you'll get any MS69-70s and it will be rare to see a MS68.
So where does the coin and grade information go? Or is this like the state flag series where this would go on the reverse of the holder? >>
Yes, the coin and grade information (and First Day of Issue -- if applicable) goes on the reverse, just as it does with the special inserts we did for the 50 States Quarters Flag series.

1.) I would like to know if that pricing posted earlier in this thread, is indeed, correct - or not. I have not seen this verified by CoinKing. It seems several of us have called the bult dept. as instructed in this thread, only to get a recording.
2.) Additionally, I would also like to know if you can send in 100 individual coins 'in flips' vs. in rolls - should a person have time to cherrypick some rolls, yet still having the pckg. to PCGS dated 2/15 by post offic.
3.) Additionally, I would like to know if a person who opens a new account with PCGS today online, can have this submission done.
Considering time is of essence in this situation, it would be nice if some of these important questions were answered here in the thread, since that department is so busy at this time.

I'm not The Man™, but I did speak with a bulk person (Stephanie, I think?) at PCGS this morning after leaving my phone number after the tone. The prices that appear earlier are the ones I was told as well:
$6 a coin if 65 below, can also have them graded "brillant uncirculated" if they fall below a certain grade you specify $10 a coin if 66 $12 a coin if 67 $15 a coin if 68 $20 a coin if 69 $30 a coin if 70
You can specify any minumum grade you want except 70. If less than 60% are holdered, you'll be charged $2/coin for the rejects, which will be returned in tubes.
I calledPCGS's bulk department this morning and got lucky that someone answered right away, these prices came from them. As long as the package is postmarked Feb 15 you should have no problem getting First Day Issue on these. I found 4 rolls today. Only one bank had them and were willing to release them to me today. I have another bank that has them ready for me tommorow to pick up. I was also limited to buying only a hundred of these. Unfortunately the bank has only the Philadelphia's and more than likely depending where you live your bank will only have rolls from one mint. Either the Denever or Philadelphia depending where you live. I could be wrong. This is a very tight window to get these submitted.
<< <i>More and more people like to collect slabs with pretty pictures, me included. End of story. >>
That's what I miss most about the old ANACS slabs. Pure business. White color, monospaced font -- absolutely boring. All attention was on the coin, and none on the holder.
but that is one ugly likeness of George Washington.
Looks like Martha hid his wooden teeth again ! Man is he pi$$ed off or what!!?
I like this one better :
By the way ....
Does "first day of issue" correlate with anything otherquality than the date it was mailed. Is that really grading a coin? or grading the submission? I guess if people are collecting the holders more than the actual coin anything is possible..
If the first day of issue is supposedly better, how about certifying it by the order number from the US mint?? Then it would be like getting a low serial number on a bill.
Or something.. ??
too tired.. yawn.
Good night!

So will there be varieties of these since some of the incused inscriptions on the side of the coins are upside down in relation to the obverse of Washington? Would they appear on these First Day of Issue as varieties?
<< <i>So will there be varieties of these since some of the incused inscriptions on the side of the coins are upside down in relation to the obverse of Washington? Would they appear on these First Day of Issue as varieties? >>
Those are not varieties since the Mint announced that this would be normal due to the edge lettering being stamped at a different time than the coin obverse and reverse. Should be a 50/50 mix.
So far I have only seen errors of different sorts so not sure if PCGS will recognize those such as no lettering or doubled lettering etc....
<< <i>I thought it was a joke that they charge more for higher grades????????? That can't be right can it? >>
'Tis right! the old saying "you get what you pay for" or is it "you pay for what you get"? >>
Wait a minute..... can I send back in some of my PCGS slabs and pay extra money for a higher grade? Of course not.
I'm not sending in any dollar coins anyway, but this just seems so wrong to me. Can someone point me to a link where this is explained. Maybe I am just slow.
Edit: I did try to call the bulk department but only got voicemail. >>
This comes under the 'share the wealth' concept. Bulk submissions are cherry-picked by professionals, right out of the wrapper. So yes, there is a minimum charge for each coin. Remember, you are tying up the time of a professional grader who would normally be looking at a huge amount of coins. I personally do not mind the 'share the wealth' concept once I put some thought to it and how long it took me to pick through boxes and boxes of WWJ nickels.
Goldking, another thing I would like to ask: Coin numbers for the Presidential dollars? The number list has some serious flaws so I use the Population reports. I have dollars to send but no numbers for forms. Thanks, Bob

Is there a limit for qty. on bulk submission? I believe 100 is the min. how about the max. per form?
Will PCGS have any examples for us to see at the Long Beach Show?
