Does anyone collect by bidboard finds?

I can't believe how cheap some coins are on a bid board that would sell for many times the price if placed in a dealer's stock book.
For example, this weekend I picked up a Canadian 1954 5 cent piece in MS63 or so for $1.50. Had I bought it from a dealer list I probably would have had to pay $20 or more.
The problem with trying to build a set from bidboard buys is that they usually don't come in date runs. If I were to stick to this method, I'd have 20 or more sets started with none completed.
