OT: For those of you running Ebay Stores -- Markdown Manager

This is a duplicate of a post I made over on the Lightside:

The Markdown Manager feature has been out for about 2 weeks now, and most of the kinks appear to have been worked out. I hadn't seen anyone here posting about it.

It basically allows store owners to put entire categories or individual items on sale at a certain percentage off, or specific dollar amount off, for a specified length of time.

No charge for using the feature, and it draws attention to your merchandise by using a "SALE" icon as well as a strikethrough of the old price and showing the new one (you can see an example by going to the store in my sig).

My sales have been flat for several weeks. I tried running a 20%-off sale manually through the BST forum before this feature was implemented. Sales were good for the first few days, but then dropped off dramatically. So last night I removed all the Best Offer links using the bulk editor (a long overdue feature), and put everything on sale at 20% off.

Less than 12 hours later I've sold 3 coins, one at $75, one at $87, and one at $160. It may just be random chance, but it's a bit odd to sell only $5-10 items for several weeks and then all of a sudden sell 3 (for me) high-dollar items in such a short time period.

Since it doesn't cost anything to use, I'd recommend trying it, at least on slow-moving merchandise...
