Would he be surprised if the highest bid is still lower than the $3 he's listed for shipping and handling.

    Good post!

I would be surprised if anybody even bids his opening bid, a penny, for that! Low feedback, crap item, etc....

I've got to say, I have *very* fond memories of the Topps sticker sets. My grandma once bought me a WHOLE BOX of packs when I was visiting her in Florida. I couldn't believe it! I have my well worn albums on my bookshelf, and they'll always be with me. I honestly can't say that for too many cards from the same era.
  • Brian48Brian48 Posts: 2,624 ✭✭✭
I think I remember this one too. Was Gary Carter on the album cover?
  • yankeeno7yankeeno7 Posts: 9,251 ✭✭✭
I think that is the sellers dry sense of humor. I actually found it amusing, certainly not serious.
  • calaban7calaban7 Posts: 3,018 ✭✭✭
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THESE ARE NOT WORTH A BILLION ? All you are trying to do , is destroy this seller hopes and get him to settle for a lower price. I believe that no REAL collection is complete until one owns one of these. We can ignore reality but reality will never ignore us. I'm off to ponder where my next billion will be spent.

  • Feedback doesn't seem that bad. The % is low because they don't have many feedback but the one neg doesn't appear to be the seller's fault. Still, I'll adjust my bid accordingly.

Oh I'm assuming it's just an attempt at humor, and it worked with me. I did a spit-take when I read it. I like a good sense of humor
with listings.... hell, I buy Chis Sabo stuff! If anyone can appreciate a little humor, it'd HAVE TO BE me!

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

I'm very tempted to just buy them to start sticking to things. Notebooks, monitors, etc... all would look nice covered in them bad boys.

Are those the stickers that come in packs? If people did not save them originally I think it would not be the easiest thing to put a set together......maybe I'm overestimating how tough it would be though?
    Trying to complete:
    2000 Bowman Chrome
    2002 Topps Heritage NAP
2003 Topps Heritage chrome and seat relics
2006 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2007 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2008 Topps Heritage refractors and relics
2006 Topps Heritage and Topps Chrome football
  • i was always a big fan of the 1985 fleer Star Stickers.....my buddy and me bought at least 3 boxes worth of packs just trying to complete the set. might even still have that unfinished sticker book sitting in a box somewhere....ahhh, the Seaver Stop action, the shaven Gibby, that weird guy named Strawberry, my buddy laughing hysterically cause there was a guy named Wade Boggs and damn it if i just pulled not doubles, not triples, not quadruples, but quintuples (had to ask mom if there was a '5' word) of that damn Roger Clemens guy.......AND NOT ONE @#$%ing BARBARO GARBEY!!!!!

They came in little yellow packs and they were everywhere. They were only a quarter vs. I think $0.30 cents for cards and that mattered to me back then. I filled up an album and had dozens of extras. The best part was you could write Topps and include a $1 and they would send you the stickers you needed to finish the set. That was about the nicest thing Topps ever did.

I am embarrased to say I have all the Topps sticker sets from 1981 to 1990, including the albums and sticker boxes and the hard backs, sticker cards, sticker inserts, the Paninis ( 87) and the OPC ( 90) issues....and the pretty tough 1990 test Mylar stickers. Try putting that one together.

    Why I have them I don't know. A sickness I guess
    Topps Baseball-1948, 1951 to 2017
    Bowman Baseball -1948-1955
    Fleer Baseball-1923, 1959-2007

They were great. 25 cents a pack, I think, at least the first year or two when I collected them. And you could send away and order the exact singles you needed. Wish they still did that with regular cards.
    WANTED:

2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

I also have sticker sets from 81-86. I used to love those!
  • This set made me chuckle a bit. My dad used to collect the sticker sets for both football and baseball in the late 70's and early 80's. Do you think he collected any cards...nope. I still think it is strange to this day, but seeing the pic brought back some good memories and laughs.

Very, very, very few have the great collection you do.

And the stickers just make the collection all the better!

Now, if you also collected Ken and Barbie accessories? Hmmmm...maybe embarassing? image

BTW, does anyone have any 1984 Topps baseball stickers lying around? I'm one short of completing that set, but I don't remember which one.

Yes, these are the same stickers that were placed one in every wax pack. They sold them in small separate packs. I used to love em, especially when I hit a foil all star!
