I would consider grading any of the superstar cards (Williams, Mantle, Mays, Ford, etc.) regardless of the condition. The lesser-condition commons such as the Browns player below would carry minimal value add by getting them graded, so I would not bother with those. The Bauer (I believe that is the Yanks player on the '50 Bowman) would get about a 7 OC, which would make it a borderline gradeable card.
It also depends - what is your goal with the cards? If you plan on selling, it may make more sense to grade cards such as the Bauer. But if you plan on keeping them, I would not invest the $10+ charge per card to grade these.
