Slightly OT: Question On Grading Coins/Currency

My father passed away last year and left behind a pretty good coin and currency collection. I'm finally getting around to sorting through it all and I think there is some stuff worth grading. But my question is which company? And which company for coins? Which company for currency? I did some preliminary research and there seems to be a couple of companies out there:
CGA - Currency Grading and Authentication, Inc.
PCGS Currency - Professional Coin Grading Service Currency
PMG - Paper Money Guarantee
NGC - Numismatic Guarantee Corporation
With cards, it appears that the "reputable" companies are PSA, BGS and SGC. And the not so "reputable" ones are PRO, GEM and you name it. If someone could provide some guidance on which company to go with for coins and currency, I would greatly appreciate it. I realize this is a card collecting forum, but it appears that there are also a lot of educated people here on collecting in general.

P.S. I just finished reading Steve Berry's The Alexandria Link. Very good book. Check it out if you have time.

the greatest value-added component in coins and currency.
NGC/PMG are popular, too; but I would never submit anything to them.
PCGS is my personal choice for coins, because the market likes their plastic.
They are perceived to be conservative graders.
CGA is my personal choice for currency, becuase they came
to the game very early and I trust their expericnce.

1. PCGS
2. NGC
3. ANACS
In that order
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

while it's true people will pay more in some instances for PLASTIC, I wouldn't let that sway me completely to one way....
Are you an ANA member? (money.org)
Are you an Ebay member?
If you are either or sign up for the ANA you can submit directly to NGC and don't need to join any type of "club"....plus They used to give 10 percent discount to ebay members.
Also, if you post something about this with some scans or digipics of some of the coins in the Coin Forum!, you'll get some good advice.
Don't clean anything and don't sell anything until you do some research. Also, don't submit anything for grading until you know what you've got and whether or not it's worth the submission fees.
there are MANY members on the coin forum that I would trust to view the stuff in person if you happen to be close to anyone....
Is PCGS like PSA where you pay a yearly memebership fee or can anyone get coins graded?
Do the prices of NGC hold up to PCGS (same coin/grade?)

PCGS gives you enough free-subs and benefits to make the membership
a bargain.
In general, PCGS plastic brings the most money. (Arguments can be
made about exceptions to that generalization.)
I would never buy another coin in an NGC holder, nor a piece of
currency in a PMG holder. (Mine is a minority view, in that regard.)
PCGS graded coins will almost always bring a premium over NGC graded coins. ANACS is very reputable, too, and ICG to a lesser degree. Avoid like the plague any other other grading companies out there, some of which intentionally use acronyms very close to PCGS. They are like the PROs of card grading.
Coin grading is also a lot more expensive than card grading. Unlike with PSA, you do not get ANY free submissions with at the Gold membership level ($99). You get 8 free grades with the Platinum membership ($199). The standard cost for grading a coin is about $30 per coin.
