1978 OPC Schmidt PSA 9

Edit: After realizing just who is auctioning this card, I would say without a doubt, it is a 100% genuine "factory cut" PSA gem! Everyone can bid with confidence! Bid your A$$es-off! image

1978 O Pee Chee OPC #225 MIKE SCHMIDT PSA 9

image shows "razor sharp edges"!

Comments

  • I have purchased a few boxes of 78 OPCs in the last little while, and can confirm that there are some cards coming out of packs that are razor sharp. Doesn't happen often, but they are there. Because OPCs were cut with a wire (like cheese, rather than a blade) it's possible they changed the wire that day at the plant. image
Notice, too, the slight centering tilt of the card, which is also indicitive of OPCs in that year. Sheet cutters would likely have corrected that tilt before cutting.
    Just some thoughts...

nah, there is tons of 78 opc's and production control was not a s bad as earlier years in regards to rough cuts and if it was sheet cut they would have made it a rectangle

I have a couple 78 opc's Psa 9 that look great. It must have been a new order of butter knifves , I mean wire when they made the ones I have. I have a 74 opc Psa 8 that looks great too. It was a 2sc special and I really think that someone looked the other way in terms of it being trimmed. I still love the card though.

I agree with packcollector. I recently bought a box of 78 OPC and a great number of cards came with no rough edges. Getting cards centered was another issue altogether. If the Schmidt is sheet cut they did a lousy job with the centering.
  • I guess with O-Pee-Chee, the rough edges don't matter in grading...

I found a Lou Brock PSA 10, I salted away, that seems to also have sharp edges, if fact your Schmidt has just as sharp edges as my Brock does! Maybe u can get a 10 on a crack-out/re-submit to PSA???. Now that I know just who is auctioning-off this card, I'm 100% confident that your Schmidt is a 100% factory gem! (I think, much better than my Schmidt PSA 9 example below!)

What happened to leave you with 97.7% positive feedback?

I see that Marc doesn't have a problem bidding, so I assume there is a good explanation?

It does appear though that the at least a few negs were left by some newbies. He even got a nuetral from someone because it took 11 days to receive item, big deal.
  • 97.7% feedback yeah dont get me started. My problem is I dont succumb to the scum on ebay who try to hold a seller hostage w neg feedback. You cant make every one happy and I'm not gonna let my self get screwed just so i can have perfect feedback.
Most of the negs came from newbies or impatient people. Heck the last 2 i sent them tracking numbers ok something happenes at the post office not my fault they get impatient and want a refund. leave a neg then guess what there stuff shows up.

Anyways Im not trying to defend my feedback. Heck most of my buyers are repeats and they know me very well. Like I said I bend backwards most of the time to make everyone I can happy. But some people you just cant. image
