How do I find the reason for subset pop?

I just purchased a 99985 and it seems it is still in some one else's set so I can't enter it into my inventory to see exactly what I have.
Looking thru other sets I see at least three populations for this same coin, from over 400 to 14. The 99985 has two populations and the subset, 99980 is just 14. Mine is a FS so I assume it is one of the lower populations, but how do I tell? Do I just have to wait till the old owner removes it from his inventory to find out?

But I still would like to know how to find this info on a coin I may want to buy because it determines the value. This is easy on older coins that are in the books, but the new coins are not published yet, and PCGS is the ony one that has this info, and won't let go till you actually have the coin. Very frustrating!

Your sigline pic exceeds the maximum allowed by a wide margin. Pics can be no more that 400x200 and 20k.

The reason I am asking is because I am looking for two more first strikes and would like to know the pop of them before I make an offer for them, when I find them.
