O/T - Any Philly people around?

My girlfriend and I are going to Delaware next weekend to visit some of her friends.
I'm not 100% certain why she booked 2 Louisianians a trip to the Northeast in the dead of winter, but assuming we don't freeze to death instantly upon stepping off the airplane, I have just a couple of questions.
We are flying into Philadelphia, and we land early (around 11AM). We were going to go to the historical district downtown... But we need someplace to store our luggage for the afternoon. Any suggestions?
Also, before we take the train out to Newark, DE (where we are staying) we need to eat a cheesesteak! Any where near the historical district that you can recommend?

LOL! That makes me think of the line in Wayne's World when they were doing their "basement" show. They had a big srcreen tv behind them showing different exciting states to visit while they were commenting on what they would do there.
Then Delaware pops up and Wayne just says "Hi, we're in Delaware", staring numbly confused...lol

<< <i>EA, You can store your bags at the train station(bag check in) and go out and have a good time. The most widely known Cheese steak joints are both located 9th Street and Passyunk Ave in South Philly. Pat's and Geno's Steaks are the names of the 2 places, located across the street from eachother. Those 2 places are the most famous, and are open 24 hours a day. >>
Awesome... Which train station? The 30th Street Station?
I was a little unsure because of the post 9/11 stuff....

I've only been through Philly by Amtrak and of course through the air port. I don't know about any local train stations and which one will put you in the right direction. I've put my bags(as in the case of a layover of a couple hours or whathaveyou) into the "Baggage Check In", it'll end up with you when you finally get where you're going. Are you using Amtrak to get to Newark? If you happen to be going anymore south in Delaware, there's this one place you have to stop if you're a fan of excellent chocolate milk. I mean, best ever. It's in Smyrna DE, it's a dairy/farmers shop on Rt 13. It's on the north side of 13. I'm from the Eastern Shore and through my travels, nothing compares.

There is a half way decent cheesesteak place in the Reading Terminal Market at 12 or 13th and Market Sts., actually closer to Arch or Cherry.
If you're going to the historical stuff (Independence Hall, Constitution Center) at 5th and Market then you're not too far away.
The Terminal Market is also a good place to pick up some Philly stuff for later. PA Dutch food, candy. My wife loves the place.
