Have to vent: A seller's response to a question about his return policy

I simply asked what his return policy was

"Return policy on a graded card by Beckett? Sorry I've never heard of that, not quite sure why i would offer a return policy for this item. The card's desricption speaks for itself, Im not sure what your concerns are?"

I replied that if the holder had been compromised, or if the card was determined to be sheet cut. His latest response

"lol alright please dont bid on the card if your gonna start making accusations like that. why would i cut a card to make the centering better and than put it back in a holder that says the centering is 6.5??? that makes no sense I hope you were drunk or sumthing when u made that claim. Also feel free to look at the pics, the card is graded by BGS, the best name in the business, not PSA thanks."

So my guess is "no returns on graded cards">>>???

Hey, Rip, can you post or PM me this guy's ID... I need him for my "don't buy from this seller" list. Thanks.

I asked him all sorts of clever questions - especially the part about where he's trying to get the buyer to pay the PayPal fee. eBay takes a dim view of that. image
  • While I don't agree with the tone of his response, I understand his policy on PSA or BGS graded cards. In the past, I had several buyers try and return cards because a player was no longer "hot". This happened last year with a Pujols PSA 10 rookie card a week after his injury and his card prices declined.

I also had someone take a BGS 9 graded card, send it to PSA and had it come back graded a PSA 8. They wanted a refund....how did I know that was the card I sold them? Sorry.

I would NOT expect a seller to refund ME for the purchase of a PSA/BGS graded card unless the holder was damaged or compromised, the card in the holder and the flip description do not agree (not disclosed in the auction) or the seller sent the wrong card.

However, I think the seller should have responded in a more professional manner.

Uh, excuse me Mr. Rip . . . I thought you were fixing up a house. What in the Sam Margaret are you doing BUYING stuff anyway?

Now let's forget about all this return policy baloney and get down to important stuff, like how you can sell me all those PSA 6 '55 Topps commons I need that you have image.

I think I might've had something to do with that one! image His own fault though. image You can't get the buyer to pay your PayPal fare.
