Centering Question

We all lnow PSAs centering standards. What are your standards when purchasing High end cards (8-9-10s)? I personally can't see a ten without perfect centering at least with the naked eye. I can take 60/40 or so on 8s and 9s depending on eras. How about you?

Here is a PSA 10 that I won off Ebay. Top to bottom centering is not perfect, but then again that is what the standards say for a PSA 10. So I can live with it.

I think 10s should have to be 50-50. It is supposed to be perfect, no?

  • A 10 should be 50/50. A 9 should be 50/50! If a 10 isn't perfect, then there's always going to be someone with a perfect card demanding a higher grade than the 10 that is centered 45/55. That's probably why BGS came up with "pristine", which I find absurd. Centered cards have eye appeal--sharp corners with missing borders do not.
