1724, 1727 and 1897 Gold Russian

Hello,
I need some pricing help in regard to three old Russian coins graded by NGC

1724 Russia Rouble KM-162.4 Graded by NGC AU 58

1727 Russia Rouble Catherine I KM-177.1 Graded by NGC VF 25

1897 AT Russia 7.5 R Graded by NGC AU 55

Any general value ranges, or suggestions on where I can find out the reasonable value for these would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Michael

    The standard price guides such as Krause are really no good when trying to price Russian material. If I were to take a swagger at ballparks, I would guess the following based on recent auction results. I am curious to hear what others think.

    1724 Russia Rouble KM-162.4 Graded by NGC AU 58 --> $2500 to $3000
    1727 Russia Rouble Catherine I KM-177.1 Graded by NGC VF 25 --> $500 - $800
    1897 AT Russia 7.5 R Graded by NGC AU 55 --> $450 - $500

    p.s. - How about some pics of these beauties!!!
  • Worldcoin,
    I will post pics tomorrow, been a long day. I found the following auction (10/2006) at this link which gets me a little excited as my coin is in better condition, Cathrine's hair can be seen cascading over her shoulder on my coin and can't be seen on the auction photo: Catherine Rouble

  • Hello,
    Sorry I did not post photos earlier, the coins are listed on eBay with photos. Follow the links:

    1724 Rouble on eBay

    1727 Rouble on eBay

    1897 7.5 Gold Rouble on eBay

    Because I know you are going to ask.... the listing for the 1727 rouble refers to auctions of similar coins selling for $20,000, here is the link for that information: Gorny & Mosch Russian Coin Auction Results. Note none of the dragon tails at this link match the tail of the coin listed on eBay. If anyone has infomation on the difference please post it here. Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Wow - nice roubles. Best of luck with the auctions. I am curious to see how they end.

    Also - I might be mistaken, but I think it is a double headed eagle and not a dragon. image
