darkside NEWPS from my first coin show

I hadn't been to a coin show since I was about 10 years old, so I loaded up my one year old daughter and we attended a local show this last weekend. She had a ball, and all of hte dealers were just nuts about her; it made for a fun family outing. The only coins I ended up with were lower priced darkside stuff, i resisted the urge to spend any real amount of money on some of the really lovely stuff on display. For you bargain hunters, i'll list the prices. Whether I overpaid or underpaid on them, it was fun nevertheless. Here is the gist of my day:
Birth year Canada PL dollar, with nice toning. my pictures are bad; this coin is beautiful in person ($10):

1951 Canada dollar, should grade AU. this is my best toner yet (IMHO). (paid $8):

here is an old Canadian half dollar in maybe F condition. I only bought it 'cause it was cheap ($5), i didn't have an old crusty half, and the silver had toned to this funky yellowish-red color.

impulse buy; i love these common 2 Franc coins from Switzerland. This one is 1958 ($5)

French 10 Franc coin, 1965 with some color. $10

last but not least, a silver Mark from Germany, mid 1920s if i recall. should grade MS64 or so with some nice color (although my pics don't pick up on the color very well) ($15)

well, there you have it; nothing old or rare, but a lot of fun for my daughter and I. thanks for looking!

I too like the Swiss coins of that type, and that German piece was a no-brainer!

Preussen,
I sat down at one dealer's table, and he only had darkside material; tons of it! He had two full albums full of German/Prussian coins in 2x2 holders. There were many proofs, 5 marks, medals, etc. Many of them were the same beautiful coins that you frequently have in your auctions. The problem was, this guys stuff was all cleaned, whizzed or otherwise messed with. A shame too, as many appeared to be UNC and well struck, if it weren't for being cleaned and showing tons of hairlines. oh well!

<< <i>Doug, do you have an image of the reverse of the '51 dollar? >>
I don't, but i can take one. it is mostly white with a little of the same toning along an edge or two.
