#1 Proof Platinum Collection - 100% PCGS PR70DC
To me this is fantastic. I tried for many years to achieve this level in the proof platinums, but came up a bit short. Most likely The Garris Collection will forever remain in the top position of the PCGS Registry, and deservingly so, as it is a very big accomplishment. Congratulations to Mr. Garris on a job very well done! I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this collection becomes a PCGS Hall Of Fame Collection.

RC: my fellow Plat pioneer from years back, nice to see you on the boards, what strikes your fancy in collecting these days?
BBpM
On top of that, Mr. Garris is a true gentleman and an all around fascinating guy who really loves his Plats and deserves the enjoyment of his great collection.
I would expect there to be (2) more perfect sets of PR70DC Plats completed before the year is out - one to our resident board member, Bruce Scher, who already possesses the "crown jewel" 1997 $100 PR70DCAM piece and is well on his way to that goal (ditto for the other unregistered collector as well who should accomplish the perfect set goal this year as well).
With the design change every year, this collection is one of the neatest sets out there in all of registryland.

Mr. Garris's collection must be stunning to see, all laid out!
Just kidding. Hats off to you. There probably wont be but a few at the 70 level and you certainly were the 1st one there..Tough to corner em all..

Sorry for the delay in response, I have had some trouble getting registered and logged on the Board. This is my first post.
Thanks very much for the kind words and comments. I really appreciate the response.
Whether one collects Classics or Moderns, large or small in base collections, etc., just to be able to assemble a little piece of history in a collection is a very daunting and exciting task. Each of you have assembled magnificent collections, retired or current, and in reality, an amazing accomplishment to hold with pride.
RC, BBpM, wondercoin, COINBOY, scher, and Bond007, my hat is off to you! Your post, the professionalism used, the sharing of your expertise and knowledge, has been appreciated by many on this board, especially by me.
I look forward to continue to study and learn from your experience.
Regards,
Steve

Great to see one of the PLAT "top dogs" participate here on the boards and share your experiences.
You know, I've learned more here in 3+ years than I ever thought I'd know about coins in a lifetime. Despite some negativity here and there, this is a really cool place to be...
