Protecting cards...

Okay...most of you know that the show I'm doing is coming up this saturday. I just realized that I ran out of top loaders, but have massive amounts of plastic sleeves. Should I put the cheapies in just the sleeves and the good stuff in top loaders? Let me know what you think or if you have any other ideas, thanks!

Don't use sleeves on anything that you would be disapointed to have bent or dinged.
  • Putting everything in sleeves is going to be time consuming, especially in a complete your set rummage box. A lot of dealers put cards in penny sleeves after you buy them, but as Allen pointed out, if you aren't careful you can fray a corner. Toploaders are too expensive for mass quantities of cards with little value--but if you still have valuable cards you need protected, I suggest you buy more until everything is covered!

I've had luck with team bags and PSA bags for large lots of singles--just put them in there at the point of purchase.

Chris, what do you cosider "cheapies"? If they're commons I would not
even bother with sleeves. (It's time consuming and due to the fact it
makes them slippery, they could easily slip out of the hands of a customer).
If they are at least a couple of dollars each, they should be sleeved with
a top loader or card saver.
