Rex, you are who we thought you were.
Signed, NFC fans.
This was, by far the worse Superbowl I've ever watched. The opening kickoff was great, but then, blah...

No way. Just about every Super Bowl from 1984 to 1995 was a total dog (save a couple). Super Bowl XX, for instance, was some of the worst prime time programming of all time.
Of course the real football season ended in Tempe last month anyway.

Yep, I have seen worst.
Go Indy!
<< <i>I thought it was a stinker too. Too many turnovers, conservative play calling, and a lack of stellar plays. Great coaching by Dungy though. Offense & Defense were ready for the Bears in every way, and he didn't let Hester hurt him twice by making adjustments. 4 backup D linemen in at the end. Just wasn't particularly enjoyable (and I like smashmouth football). >>
The rain didn't help anything..... ball was squirting around like a bar of soap all game long.

Just stop drafting quarterbacks already!!!
Well, now I am thinking PUPPY BOWL lll was better. J/K
I was surprised though at just how bad Grossman is. I doubt he'll be a starter next year. Also the Bears D wasn't as good as I thought either. They're good but not like the 2000 Ravens good.
Thanks,

Good to see Manning and Dungy win their rings - though the Manning critics will now say 'well he's not the reason they won'. That guy can never win with some people.
Why did I get excited for this game?
The whole Super Bowl thing is ridiculous. Most people who watch don't even know whats going on.
The NFL playoffs are almost always much more entertaining than the Championship game. Those are where all the barn burners have been.
Rex is bad.

Huh? You really think so? I guess when your audience is as large as it is, there is going to be good number who don't. But please don't make baseless accusations like this.

I'd buy that. And please, don't dare skin to come up with stats to support his claim.
Because he will.

Wow! I lived here in SouthFlorida for a long time, but "Purple Rain" at a Super Bowl?
I've seen everything!

While, I was rooting for Rex and the Bears, they really stunk! Congrats to Payton, now a HOFer with a Superbowl MVP tag! Not too shabby!

a sloppy game. Being an 80's music fan I definitely enjoyed Prince for sure!

<< <i>The point is understood but actually this was a very entertaining, hard fought football game, played in tough weather conditions. >>
This game was not over until the pick 6 more than halfway through the 4th. I thought this was a good game as well.

This has been the case for the last ten or so Super Bowls, salary cap=mediocre teams in the championship. This is what the fans want , enjoy!

Good for Manning, now he is one less great QB who has the so-called monkey off his back that was issued to him by foolish skeptics.
<< <i>The weather was awful for a Super Bowl, I think the outcome might have been the same but the play was effected to much by the rain, they need to schedule these games in domes from now on. IMO the game was not all that bad but certainly not as good as the AFC championship game.

This was the first time in 41 years that it rained for a Super Bowl. Keep the games outside...
Likely that opening kickoff doesn't go back, and I saw Peyton lose his footing several times.
One thing that concerns me: while rex's criticisms are valid, where's the blame train for the Chicago D? I mean they got owned all night long, giving up 430 yards, and I have yet to hear anyone bash them? They are the reason the Bears' offense never got into a rhythm, they're the reason Grossman went nearly a full hour (real time) without having the ball in his hands (end of the first half to halfway though the third quarter). The defense was blown out of the water, yet they are not being held accountable at all. Is it fear of injuring the rep of glory boy urlacher? Who knows, but it stinks.
