stupid ebay take 1 billion...

I sold a group of two steve mcnair RC's a few weeks ago... for $.99

yesterday I get a negative (my first in 300 or 400 positive feedback)... of course it is from this idiot $.99 auction buyer. It's my own fault for listing an item at .99. He says 'CROOK NEVER REC'D CARDS)

I message him saying 'you really need to communicate with the seller and ask for a refund if you don't get the product, I'd gladly give you a refund, how am I supposed to know the cards never arrived?"

Here is what he replied with:

this is the way i see i bro, no need for the attitude. i sent you the bread .. you send me the butta . its been over a month and if i was in your situation,i would be the one at fault. it isnt hard to put em ina envelope and ship em. but . dont matter bout the price i one it for homeboy, the point is i didnt get the product. so therefor i gota do what i gota do. keep the 5.
thanks for the offer

Am I wrong here? How are people this stupid alive? I do realize it is my fault for selling something for $.99, but still. Jeez.

  • the guy is an idiot. If you would share the member ID, I will block him from my auctions. You did the right thing but got burned. Unfortunately, the item wasn't worth a signature confirmation. Sorry about this one, John.

    You can't fix stupid!!
  • I'm not sure what's worse.... his lack of rationality or his abhorrent butchery of language....

If you'd please post or PM the username, I'd like to block him too. I often sell items just to get 'em outta the house, and I don't want that freak negging me because he didn't receive his butter and isn't willing to take a refund of his bread.

  • Please pass the id John... That is so weak.. IF a seller offers a refund to me on a item that doesn't arrive or tries to make it better than I am more than happy to leave him a postive as he came through in being a great seller.. I had a similar problem but the buyer was gladly working with me on the card and took a refund on a 3 dollar item.

EXACTLY. That is part of what makes a great seller; fixing things.

Ahman's story is a prime example of why so many honest sellers
now refuse to leave FB upon payment.

I hope that guy's ID gets spread around so we can all BBL him.
But, there are millions more just like him.

  • John,

Please post his ID so we can add him to our block list. NO, it's not your fault. What a jerk... sorry about the neg! I know I will hate it when I get my first one.
  • That sucks!

    Here is the a-hole
  • Did you give him FB?

    Recommend you do this...

Refund the %$#$% and do a Mutual Feedback Withdrawal

    I would NEG him back.

"USPS lost 99-cent card. No contact for EZ refund. Just leaves NEG. Block Bidder."

I would not be in a hurry to remove the NEG. It will not hurt your biz. It will
make him look like the BAD buyer that he is.

Click on "site map" at top of the EBAY page.

    Select Block Buyer/Bidder list.

    Select ADD to list.

    Enter ID of bad buyer.

    Select Upadate.

    Done.

Thanks for the help guys. I do not sell things frequently during the school year, but I happened to have a few items ending today. It stinks that my first feedback is this negative in my profile, for a $.99 card to boot! sheesh!!

I used that feedback suggestion from you, Storm, thanks.

    He likes those 99-cent specials.

I like selling them, too. They bring lots of traffic to stores.

Now, even if I sell something for a few cents, I fatten up
a manilla or a bubble and slap DC on it. That runs the cost
of advertising up, but it's the only way to avoid the scamsters.

    Already done above.

John, can't believe he did it. Hell, he is a seller too with 100% FB and no MW. He needs a neg. Good Luck

  • ROFLMAO! Way 2 GO John... Let us know if he emails u back about it. lol

It's pretty sad that he couldn't just email you and say hey never got card. What a loser!!!

In reviewing the subject account, it looks like
the perp simply does not fully understand how
    EBAY is supposed to work.

He even solicits cash in his listings.

Like Xanadu says, "Some folks need a little help."

He still deserves the Ahman NEG, though.

It looks like he might have some retal NEGS coming, too.

I clicked the link expecting this jackass to have a -1 feedback or a few positves with some negs or something like that. He actually has a fair amount of positive feedback and has even sold cards. There is no excuse whatsoever for that neg of his - he should know better. Just ridiculous!

Here is what he messaged me today:

"ol your a joke homeboy. leavin me a negative feedback after i done gave you one. how you gona flip the story and sell wolf tickets like that . you didnt send my product and you know it.its cool though i aint trippin .peeps like you get your own way. but what goes around comes around so ill let you go now. ill see you later.. gone"

I figure this must be someone messing with me, or are there really people this stupid in the world?

One more email from him would cause me to report him
to EBAY for harassment. They will take no action but,
the complaint will go in his file.

You might contact the other sellers that he has NEGd
and see what their story on him is.

I left a post the other day(s) about why I never leave feedback before the seller. I've had mostly great buyers amoung my buyers but........ . I really think that I've had a few too many pychos as buyers .As nice I want to be as a seller, I know as soon as I let my guard down the PAGENS will march in. As I explained before I had a woman who bought a Psa graded card for her husband, paid fast with paypal, I left feedback. Their young child urinated all over the card(incased). She demanded a replacement. It was a wonderful experience. I had another buyer about 2 years ago who bought a high dollar Pcgs graded Morgan dollar. Their dog had got hold of it and chewed on it for a while. He as well demanded a replacement or ELSE. I've had others not quite as bad but equally memorable that leave a major sence of distrust.

I have "1" neg from a non-payer, who retailated.I have almost 800 feedback and it takes a lot of work to keep even the crazys happy. When I have bidders on the horizon, I normally check their feedback history if I have time. Almost every nasty or hostile buyer( or sellers even ) are so easily spotted now, that at times I go into damage control mode soon after the sale is over to headoff problems . I've saved numerous potential trainwrecks by doing a little homework.

I've heard that there are many stupid people born every day, unforunately most live. These people are out there. We can ignore reality, but reality will never ignore us.

  • Thanks for warning us about this loser. I blocked him from my auctions. It's hard to believe someone could be so dumb or so rude. To leave the seller a neg. without even contacting him first is just plain wrong. I've had cards more expensive than 99 cents not arrive, and if the seller has good feedback, I've given him the benefit of the doubt and assumed it just got lost. Fortuneately, I've never had a big loss, and it's only happened 2-3 times. I've never given or received a neg. feedback.

    Jeff
  • Wow. I was quite surprised to read some of these responses. No one else here has jumped in on behalf of logic so I guess I'll have to.

Gentlemen, it's 2007 now, time to start acquainting yourselves with New Ebay. Consider it a revolution and I just started it here. The following are perfectly acceptable reasons to neg someone:

1.) The item never arrives. DO NOT contact the seller, they won't help you.

2.) You do not receive an invoice within 24 hours of auction end.

3.) The seller does not accept PayPal.

4.) The seller fails to follow up the purchase with a friendly and humble message requesting any further services they may provide at no cost to the buyer.

5.) The seller uses a US postage stamp with an inflammatory, offensive or nonjoyful image on it (ie. teddy bears, American flag, sporting personalities).

6.) The sller either knowingly or unknowingly schedules the auction to end at a date/time that is inconveniet to the buyer (ie. weekends, nights, early mornings, weekdays)

    7.) The seller accepts PayPal

8.) The item description is unsatisfactory

9.) If purchased during any holiday season the item doesn't arrive gift wrapped in appropriate thematic wrapping

10.) The seller has positive feedback of 1000+ (these seller's are usually arrogant and pompous and should be "brought back down to earth")

11.) The buyer becomes ill or contracts a common cold shortly (3-4 months) after handling the seller's item/packaging

Above infractions should be handled with an immediate neg feedback as well as claims to the USPS of mail fraud and reporting the seller to their respective local FBI office with charges of statuatory rape and operating a kiddie porn ring. If the seller lives within 1500 miles of the buyer, the buyer should execute "street justice." If the seller lives outside of the 1500 miles radius the buyer should hire someone to execute "street justice" and the buyer should then sue the seller for the cost of hiring said street thug as well as compensatory punitive damages ... and lawyer fees.

    "Wave of the Future."

    //////////////////////////

I am thinking that future is not one that makes me want
    to be on EBAY forever.

In many collectible categories, I am pretty certain that I
can do as well or better on a free-standing website.

The money I pay EBAY can go to google ads and other
    online clickables.

Way over 50% of my collectible biz is coming from simple
flyers that I enclose with orders and mail to my lists.

The stress of having to worry about psychos each time
somebody buys something through EBAY, is losing its
    charm, for me.

    Not all that surprising, though.
