Some of the old timers here probably know who Max Lanier was, but for those that don't here's a link to his wikipedia page. Max Lanier

Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

    max lanier was a pitcher I believe and his younger brother was 2nd baseman hal lanier

    Actually, Max pitched for the Cards in the 40's and Hal is his son.
