lawn I need your Emmitt Help....90TT RC BGS with Record Game Ball piece, SCAN

I picked this up in a lot and can't find any info on it. Has the following on the flip.
"1990 TOPPS TRADED, #27 EMMITT SMITH, GAME BALL 10-27-02, ALL-TIME RUSHING LEADER"
That is the game he set the record in and the ball piece is the W from Wilson ond the ball and is 3 color. The back has a computer chip and says wetrak.com and a huge number you can look up on their site. What is this worth? What might it pull on eBay?

Beckett had that deal a while ago. They would add a game-used piece in the holder when they graded the card. The price varied with the player. It is pretty cool that they had a ball from that game.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

image I have never seen that one before. I know Beckett likes that 1990 Topps card though. Heres another 1990 topps card I have only seen graded by bgs

    auto

The auto version sells a little above $100.00

I know a few Emmitt guys that would go nuts for that in the bgs slab. The grade may scare them a little though

Arch I know what you are talking about, but this is different than those.

lawn- thanks for the help, so you think its worth listing on ebay?

I would list it. Make sure to talk up the fact that it is the ball which he carried in the game when he broke the record and its proven by the chip on the back. Also say its quite rare. I have never seen it and I check raw, psa and bgs Emmitt cards everyday.

edit: Also include a link to wetrak.com so potential buyers can check out what its about
  • It is not the actual ball he broke the record with they cut up. Just a ball used in the game. Who knows if even Emmitt touched it. In those special record breaking type games, they are known to use a bunch of game balls in them to resell later. Emmitt was pretty protective of his game used stuff and I'm sure he has the ball or maybe even the HOF has it. Seems like a gimmick to try and move a pretty cheap card. Not sure what pop is off hand, but there must be a ton of those graded 9 or better. Why would they not just used ball pieces in 9 or better cards??? No one would want the card (graded 8.5), but the ball piece might fetch a few bucks with it. You might even get lucky and few ebayers will think it is the ball he broke the record and jack up the price.....
