I don't know if you had heard about a guy who found a $ 4,000 diamond ring in Maine 2 days before Christmas.
Unusual being able to dig in Maine at Christmas time.
The story was in the boston globe etc.. and made the AP newspapers..
The metal detecting/jewelry store where he brought the ring in to have it appraised has a nice photo of it on this web page..
