    The same people that are paying 12k for a 2006 Lincoln cent that grades MS 70. Those type of people.

    What would you rather have? That card or cent?

    The auction didn't end at $10,000, there was simply an offer below that amount. I would guess that the offer was alot closer to the SMR price. $10,000 is wishful thinking.

    SMR is $2750....but, if someone decides to offer something like 4 or 5K based on the 'buy it now' price....well, then David gets a great deal!

    according to vintagecardprices.com, the last Bender portrait PSA 8 sold for $4915. in Mastro last December. Prior to that sales were $7162. (SCP) and $4780. (Heritage)
    I think SMR is a tad off.

    Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
