A regular season game in London? Why is the NFL messing with a great product? Do you really feel people in London will be excited about this? They continually try this all the time and I have no idea why!

They view our football they way we view their Football (Soccer) - just not going to happen but greed will always try

<< <i>It can't hurt. Probably a lost cause and probably not money well spent, but I doubt it will make the sport less popular worldwide.

They are just trying to expand interest in the NFL beyond the US, Mexico and Canada. I suspect it will have no more success than
trying to get Americans interested in that "other" game called football.
After next season they will have two regular season games played outside the US. The ones not liking it are most likely to be the
teams involved since this will be a disruption to their normal routines along with more jet lag. etc.

Tickets to see the American football game in London are expected to be in huge demand. 5 million people in the UK watch the NFL Super Bowl, and attendance at the game is estimated at about 80,000 – 90,000 people. >>

Sure, they have fans but put it in perspective. The UK population is approx. 60 million. There is a large curiousity factor, probably more
so than the US has with soccer but I'm not sure a sellout of the game means a huge level of support.

Basketball has no such competition. Instead, basketball is played on all 6 continents (maybe even 7 if scientists, researchers and support personnel at research stations in Antarctica have access to an indoor gym with hoops, backboards and basketballs). International professional leagues have been around for decades, with talent ranging from club level to NBA caliber. Non US players have been pouring into the NBA and are "All Stars" (Dirk Nowitski, Steve Nash, Manu Ginobli, Yao Ming, etc.). These Non US players are "national heros" back home. Kids in these countries emulate their native NBA Stars. The NBA product is televised to hundreds of countries around the world and its popularity is souring, with revenue streams from outside the US growing in number and amount. Games and tournaments between NBA teams and foreign teams happen regularly. The question of global expansion of the NBA is not if, but when.
<< <i>At least "our" football is entertaining >>
Please. There are about 6-7 teams that are entertaining. USA Football is the only contest in the world where more people tune into it's championship for the commercials than the game itself.

Uhhuh. Please, if you think only 6-7 teams are entertaining, it's no suprise you refer to it as USA Football. Tune into some of the games so you can actually know what you're talking about.
