I've been froze out of detecting the last 3 weeks. I'm not use to that after last year. I was going to a local coin shop this afternoon and picked up a gold and silver looking wire out of the slush. Turns out to be a bent up ear ring. When I went into the shop I asked jokeinglee if this "was anything". The owner got out his loop and said it was 14k and sterling. He asked if I wanted to sell it for scrap. I said sure. He weighed it and I got $9.50 for the gold and 50 cents for the silver. So I made $10 by going to the shop and started with nothing. And that was my first gold for the year.
