Major League (the movie) - Serrano's Locker on Cutdown Day

I have seen this movie countless times, and just now saw something I had never noticed before.

In the movie, on the final cutdown day, after Serrano does the painting on his locker with the snake, and slowly opens his locker, there are some baseball cards hanging. I swear I have never seen these before, but sure enough, there they are.

Looks like, from left to right:

1984 Donruss Diamond King (Eddie Murray?)
Hank Aaron - play ball set (can never remember the name of this set
Can't tell - too dark
71 Mccovey? (too tired to dig out my 71 set)
54 Aaron RC?
Don't know

Thought it was an interesting thing to see, after having seen this movie so many times and never seeing it before.

    Jerry Seinfeld knows my pain....

I can just hear him now, "and what is the deal with those corners? The cards come out dinged already!"

"How come the puzzle piece isn't on the sealed end? What is the deal with that?! One card is stuck to the wax, but the puzzle piece is safe on the other end!"
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

Isn't the Topps game card a Clemente? I'm fairly sure he's got at least one Roberto card in there.

Remember the episode "The Wonder Years" where Kevin and his BFF Paul are trading baseball cards? Well, this episode is takes place around 1969 or so, but you can clearly tell by the backs of their cards they're trading 1989 Topps cards! Geez, did they secretly invent a time machine and didn't tell anyone? image

Did he, never noticed. I do remember George Constanza having a 1995 Score Baseball poster in his living room.

The 90 Donruss box was there for a couple of seasons I think--early seasons. Same thing about Superman in Seinfeld episodes. Virtually every Seinfeld episode has a reference or image of Superman in it. Best is the 'Bizarro Jerry' episode where the Bizarro Jerry has a Bizarro Superman statue in his apartment...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

I haven't seen the movie since seeing the question, but I'm almost positive there's a 1968 Topps Game card of Clemente. I've seen the movie enough (and love it enough) to be pretty sure of that!

BTW, one of my all-time favorite collectibles I own is the Cleveland Indians uniform (pants and jersey) worn by Dennis Haysbert (aka Cerrano) while filming Major League 2. In my sports room filled with stuff, it inevitably ends up being the most talked about piece, and I love it! I'll have to post a pic when I get home tonight to show it off......

Sorry, that should be "from 1969 or so"; I put in the years the shows were on by mistake.
