Mitch Albom says Colts by 14

In the Detroit Free Press he had a column saying you don't need all of the pre game hype analysis to pick this one, it is easy. Colts by 14.

Don't know how good he is in picking but I'm inclined to agree with him on this.

I was thinking that last Monday, but now I am leaning towards the Bears and the under. Still think the Colts are gonna win, but it will be close imo.

I think Indy will be up by 20+ at the half and then coast from there. 35-10 final. image

I think the Bears win outright. They can stuff Addai, and keep pressure on Manning. Grossman just needs to have a Dilfer-esque performance and let the running game carry the load. Most importantly, I think the Colts are just happy to get past the Pats, and be IN the Super Bowl. They've silenced the naysayers; Peyton has won the big game. The Bears still have not convinced people; they need the win Sunday for vindication. They're hungrier. Defense wins championships. Bears by 4.

I doubt the Colts are satisfied just beating the Pats. They have won A big game but not the one that really counts in the long run.
Can you imagine people years from now saying at Canton "Well, Payton did beat the Pats that one time to at least make it to the
Super Bowl". No way, he has to have that ring to validate his career. He may be only 30 years old and some people say he still
has time but there are no guarantees that he will ever get another chance at the Super Bow. (just ask Dan Marino).

I think both teams are extremely hungry. It should be a great game.

I cannot dissagree more, the Bears are more hungrier? How do you figure that one? Manning and the Colts have been tyed to the old "Cant win the big game..no Super Bowl ring..blah blah blah" The Colts will be up for this game, I do agree that if Grossman plays a Trent Dilfer roll the Bears could win ofcourse. I would not be suprised if the Bears did win, their Defense is just nasty. Either way hopefully its a great Game. score.....23-17 .....Super Bowl Champ...???????????????

Fair enough image I hope it's a good game and I wouldn't be surprised to see either team win. I stand by my statement that the Bears have more to prove. Even here in Illinois fans are just waiting for the other shoe to drop... rare is the person who believes that they are as good as their record reflects, or that they belong in the Super Bowl. The monkey on Manning's back was that he couldn't get past the Pats and couldn't get TO the Super Bowl. He's done both of those things.

I don't think so... While this is the first time he's been in a Championship game (regardless if it was in college or the pros), the knock has been that he never could win a big game. And don't forget, he didn't face the Pats last year, he lost to PIT in the AFC Championship.

If they lose on Sunday, the monkey of "never winning the big game" will still be on his back.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • The colts will win if their Defense continues to over-perform, Chicago D will be solid. I'd prefer a close game. I think that Mitch Albom is rolling up pages up his books and smoking them with crack. 14 points? thats just silly.

I don't know who's going to win, and while I have a lukewarm appreciation for the Colts in the final analysis I really don't care. But one thing I feel pretty good about is that anyone who lays the 7 with Indy pays property taxes in Square City.
