British Historical Medals 1837-1901 by Laurence Brown. BHM#1885 ROYAL SOCIETY PRIZE MEDAL. The medal itself in Copper is considered "R" Rare.
It is interesting to note that in a footnote to the BHM description is the following. "The author has noted an obverse cliche' of this piece in a private collection." We refer to an item such as this as a Trial strike.

This is no doubt UNIQUE and now in my private collection!

I am going to acetone soak it to get the greenies off of it.
